Unit 1: Exploration

The Age of Exploration, often referred to as the Age of Discovery, is a time period from 1400-1700 in which European countries traveled vast distances across many oceans and seas to expand their territory. This period is extremely important in the development of the America’s to the later United States since it begins the “melting pot” that is our American culture. It also sets the stage for many disputes over land and identity. The soon to be asked question: Are we Americans? that sparks the American Revolution.
